Cost of Living Bonus to Be Paid Early, Jersey Government Confirms
Residents in Jersey who receive an annual financial bonus to help with the rising cost of living will receive the payment earlier than usual this year, according to the government.
The Community Costs Bonus, typically distributed in the autumn, is being paid out in July, with some eligible families already receiving the £516.50 automatically.
Deputy Lyndsay Feltham, Minister for Social Security, said the decision to bring the payment forward and extend it for another year was made to "help families as soon as possible."
To qualify for the bonus, at least one adult in the household must have lived in Jersey for a minimum of five years. In addition, the household must have a combined tax liability of less than £2,735 for 2024 and must not be receiving income support.
The government confirmed that £2.2 million in funding has been allocated to continue the scheme, using money from existing departmental budgets.
