Consumer Fair Marks 30 Years of Support for Islanders
Islanders will be able to access free advice from nearly 20 consumer-focused organisations at a special fair to celebrate the Jersey Consumer Council’s 30th anniversary.
The two-day event, the first of its kind in Jersey, will take place at St Helier’s Town Hall on 19 and 20 September. Running from 9:30am to 4:30pm, the fair will feature stalls and free talks covering issues from the cost of living and energy bills to online safety and budgeting tips.
Organisations taking part include Trading Standards, Citizens Advice, Enable Jersey, Highlands College, LibertyBus, the Office of the Information Commissioner, Jersey Fire and Rescue, and the Competition and Regulatory Authority.
Consumer Council Chair Carl Walker said the fair was designed as a practical celebration, rather than a black-tie event. “We wanted to do something that really helps islanders. People will be able to pick up confidential advice, money-saving tips, and practical guidance to make life a little easier,” he said.
The Council is confident everyone who attends will leave with at least one useful idea to share with their family and friends.
