Community mural project invites islanders to get creative at Quennevais skate park

Islanders are being encouraged to pick up a paintbrush and take part in a public art event designed to celebrate creativity and community spirit.

The Street Art Showcase, organised by Jersey Eisteddfod, will be held at the skate park at Quennevais Sports Centre from 10:00 to 16:00.

Organisers say the event will provide an inclusive environment where young people, families and local artists can learn new techniques, work together and express themselves through art.

With trainers and youth workers available to offer guidance, participants will have the chance to help create a new mural for the area. The project aims to inspire creativity while also encouraging a sense of pride in the local community.

The showcase has received support through government funding and from local business Normans Jersey.

Martina McGibney, managing director of the company, said the firm was pleased to back the initiative.

“We’re thrilled to support an event that encourages creativity, confidence and community spirit,” she said.
