Kindness Festival Cancelled Amid Lack of Charity Participation
A festival celebrating local charitable work has been cancelled due to a lack of interest from organisations wishing to take part.
Organisers of Jersey's Kindness Festival said they typically have 25 to 30 charities signed up by this point, but this year only four had registered.
"This leads to the realisation that – with so many charity events on the island – the Kindness Festival may no longer be needed," a spokesperson said.
The decision to cancel was made early to avoid unnecessary preparations by performers and to free up the venues for other events.
Originally launched in 2015, the festival was designed as a “joyful celebration” of local charities and a “day of fun” for the community. This year’s event was scheduled to take place in St Aubin towards the end of September.
Organisers confirmed that all registration fees will be refunded to the charities that had signed up.
