Bergerac Star Falls in Love with Jersey at Premiere
Damien Molony, star of the Bergerac reboot, praised Jersey as "incredible" while attending the show's premiere at Cineworld in St Helier. The new series, co-starring Zoë Wanamaker and Philip Glenister, airs on Thursday.
Jersey's government invested £1.2m in the revival, hoping to boost tourism. Executive producer Brian Constantine called it "an honour" to debut the show on the island, while director Colm McCarthy highlighted Jersey’s unique cinematic appeal.
Local actor Timothy Renouf described filming in his hometown as "a dream," and Glenister, who appeared in the original Bergerac, expressed his fondness for the Channel Islands.
Fans eagerly anticipate the return of the classic detective drama, with hopes it will showcase Jersey’s beauty alongside compelling storytelling.
