Jersey to Host Free Outdoor Screening of Women’s Euro Quarter-Final
Football fans in Jersey will be able to watch England’s UEFA Women’s Euro 2025 quarter-final against Sweden live on a giant outdoor screen at Howard Davis Park this Thursday.
Jersey Screenings has announced it will show the match at 20:00 BST as part of a series of free public screenings aimed at families and supporters. The initiative is backed by Connect Me and the International Cultural Centre.
The event space will feature a 6-metre-wide by 4-metre-tall LED screen in a designated alcohol-free zone, with no glass containers permitted. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own picnic food and soft drinks to enjoy during the match.
The screenings will continue with live broadcasts of the semi-finals and final, scheduled for 22, 23, and 27 July respectively.
While entry is free, advance booking is required to secure a place in the fan zone, which will open 45 minutes before kick-off.
Co-organiser Bino Rodrigues emphasised the importance of showcasing the women's game and supporting the national team:
“We wanted to bring the community together to enjoy some great football. The Lionesses have been outstanding and it feels right to celebrate their success in a beautiful park setting. It's also about giving women’s football the visibility it deserves.”
He added that the initiative aims to inspire young people:
“We hope it encourages both boys and girls to get involved in sport—whether football or something else. It’s a fantastic tournament with the power to inspire.”
In addition to the football, donations will be collected in support of FREEDA, a local charity supporting survivors of domestic abuse.
