Carey Olsen partner Robert Milner has been appointed as a Commissioner of the Jersey Financial Services Commission (JFSC), strengthening the regulator’s leadership team with his extensive industry experience.

A highly regarded Jersey funds lawyer, Robert has been an active figure in shaping the island’s financial services landscape for over a decade. His contributions through the Jersey Funds Association and various industry working groups have helped to inform key developments in local law and regulation.

At Carey Olsen, Robert advises a diverse client base ranging from boutique managers to major institutions. His expertise covers the establishment of Jersey investment funds, fund manager structures, and Jersey Property Unit Trusts (JPUTs), as well as Real Estate Investment Trusts (REITs).

Robert joins the JFSC alongside Lynn Cleary, former managing director of RBS International and current non-executive director of Foresight Group and Ports of Jersey.

Reflecting on his appointment, Robert said:

“Having spent many years working with the JFSC in a professional capacity at Carey Olsen, it is a privilege to join the organisation as a Commissioner. I look forward to contributing to the JFSC’s work in a way that supports the ongoing development of Jersey’s financial services sector.”
