The Children and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) will move to a new base in St Helier next week as part of plans to improve the delivery of mental health care for young people in Jersey.

The service is relocating from Liberté House to Bermuda House on Green Street, with the main move scheduled over the weekend to limit disruption for patients and families.

Officials said services are expected to continue largely as normal during the transition, although neurodevelopmental assessment appointments will be temporarily held at the Enid Quenault Centre on Monday. Affected families will be contacted directly, with full services due to resume from Bermuda House on Tuesday.

The new facility has been designed specifically for CAMHS, featuring 17 clinical rooms and layouts intended to support both patient care and day-to-day operations.

Feedback from children and young people played a key role in shaping the design, particularly around the need for more discreet access to mental health services. Staff from CAMHS were also involved in planning the space, alongside input from the Jersey Care Commission and the Children’s Commissioner during development.

The Children, Young People, Education and Skills Department said the relocation would “strengthen the service’s ability to meet increasing demand” while improving the experience for patients, families and staff.
