The sloth house at Jersey Zoo has reopened after the birth of a two-toed sloth on January 15.
According to the Durrell Wildlife Conservation Trust, which operates the zoo, the enclosure will be open daily from 14:00 to 16:00 GMT to help mother Terry and her newborn adjust to visitors. To ensure a peaceful environment, only 12 people will be allowed inside at a time.
The zoo shared on social media: "When you visit, please act like a sloth—slow and quiet!"
Durrell described the birth as a "significant milestone" for its pan-European breeding program. The baby’s parents, Terry and Rio, were paired as part of the initiative, though Rio sadly passed away just nine days later.
