Applications Open for £5,000 Community Art and Sport Grants

Islanders can now apply for community grants of up to £5,000 through the Government of Jersey’s Connect Me scheme, which has officially opened its latest round of funding. The scheme supports projects that encourage participation in arts, culture, and physical activities, aiming to help more people across the island get involved and stay active.

Paul McGinnety, Head of Local Services for Employment, Social Security and Housing, said: "It's heartwarming to know more people in the community will benefit from the scheme this year."

Applications will remain open until Friday 4 April.

Supporting Active and Creative Communities

Funding will be awarded based on how many islanders are expected to benefit from the activities over the next two years.

"Each year we see how the funding helps islanders lead more active lives, overcome obstacles, and enjoy activities that enhance their wellbeing," Mr McGinnety added. "It also helps bring local charities together to collaborate on meaningful projects."

In addition to supporting community participation, the grants are also designed to create opportunities for local creatives and arts professionals.

Priority will be given to new applicants who have not previously received funding from the scheme.
