Holiday Let Conversion at Former Jersey Restaurant Rejected Again

Plans to convert the former Nude Dunes restaurant at La Route de la Pulente into self-catering holiday accommodation have been blocked once more, following a government decision to uphold a previous planning refusal.

Environment Minister Deputy Steve Luce dismissed an appeal, despite an independent planning inspector recommending approval. Luce ruled the proposal clashed with Jersey's island plan, particularly in terms of design quality and use of the sensitive coastal site.

Though the scheme included reopening public toilets and operating a café, Luce said the plans did not justify altering the building's use.

St Brelade Deputy Montfort Tadier backed the decision, calling it the “right outcome” and expressing hope that it brings an end to the appeal process.
