Island Schools Expand Sports Programme A scheme aimed at getting Jersey’s young people active is set to more than double in size this academic year.

Jersey Sport’s SPORTIN SCHOOLS, trialled last year with eight schools, will now involve 18 schools and 13 different sports, delivering over 500 hours of activity during the autumn term.

A separate pilot at Beaulieu will focus on boosting participation among teenage girls. Sports include rugby, netball, cricket, athletics, padel, hockey, kickboxing, squash and football.

School Sport Development Officer Chris Riley said the programme showed a strong commitment to providing “meaningful and inclusive” opportunities for pupils across the island.
