Six-Week Partial Closure for £1.5m Road Upgrade in St Clement
A section of La Grande Route de la Côte in St Clement will be partially closed for six weeks as a £1.5 million road improvement project gets underway.
According to Infrastructure and Environment (I&E), this stretch of the coast road is being resurfaced for the first time in over 20 years. The investment is intended to ensure the road remains in good condition for many years to come.
The closure will be in effect from 07:30 to 21:00, Monday to Friday, with efforts made to keep the road open at weekends. Access for residents will be maintained "where possible," I&E said.
Several temporary one-way systems will be introduced, and drivers are urged to follow all traffic signs. The government has warned that failure to comply could result in fines of up to £1,000.
The works are expected to be completed by Friday 29 August.
