A dramatic waterspout touched down at sea just a few hundred metres from a sailing yacht off the coast of Jersey.
This incident comes just a month after a deadly waterspout is believed to have struck a superyacht off the coast of Sicily during a severe storm. Seven people tragically lost their lives in the accident, prompting concerns over the unpredictability of extreme weather events.
Experts are strongly advising sailors and other seamen to exercise heightened caution and remain particularly vigilant, as these types of natural phenomena seem to be occurring with increasing frequency and intensity, posing greater risks to those navigating the seas.
