Scavenger hunt set up for families at Jersey Marina

A marine-themed scavenger hunt has been set up for children during half-term at Jersey Marina.

Ports of Jersey (POJ) said it hoped to "encourage families to explore" the harbour and learn about the island's history. It said the hunt would teach children nautical and historical facts, "as well as essential seafaring knowledge". Kim Gilbraith, POJ events and project support manger, said there would be "lots of interesting things to see".

She said: "We wanted to create a fun activity that encourages families with younger children to visit the harbour to learn more about its history and how it operates as a working harbour.

"Often our only interaction with the harbour is driving on to a ferry so we hope this will be an enjoyable activity to do during the half-term holiday, which offers a different perspective on Jersey's maritime life." POJ said the hour-long route would start at the Marina Office where people could collect a map.
