Island residents are being advised to exercise caution during the expected hot weather this weekend.
Temperatures are predicted to reach 24°C on Saturday, with a peak of 32°C anticipated on Sunday, according to Jersey Met.
The Government of Jersey warned that extreme heat can lead to heat exhaustion, heatstroke, and dehydration, particularly among the elderly and children.
Authorities recommend following seven key steps to stay cool, such as avoiding outdoor activities during the hottest hours, staying hydrated, and postponing strenuous activities to cooler parts of the day.
Tips for Staying Safe in the Sun:
Avoid going outside between 11:00 and 15:00 BST, the hottest part of the day.
Delay strenuous activities until the cooler evening hours.
Take cold baths or showers.
Stay hydrated by drinking plenty of water, and avoid coffee and alcohol.
Keep your home cool by closing curtains, opening windows, and using fans.
Wear a hat, loose-fitting light clothing, stay in the shade, and carry water when outdoors.
Apply sun cream before heading outside.
