Jersey's prison governor has resigned after nearly three-and-a-half years, according to the Justice and Home Affairs Department.
Officials praised Susie Richardson, who became governor in February 2021, for her "dedicated service" to both the government and the prison. The deputy governor will maintain leadership of the prison service during the recruitment process. Home Affairs Minister Mary Le Hegarat expressed gratitude to Ms. Richardson for her "loyal service."
“I and my team would like to thank Susie for her loyal service as prison governor, for her commitment and contribution, and that of her family, to the island and its community," Deputy Le Hegarat said. "We wish her all the very best for the future.”
HMP La Moye, with a capacity for 200 inmates, typically housed around 140 prisoners at a time, according to the government's website.
