Jersey parishes will have their own Community Police Officers by next year.
In total, 16 new officers will be based in community roles, and each parish representative will regularly meet residents to learn about the issues that matter to them.
The States of Jersey Police has appointed four officers to work with the island’s schools and young people.
The new posts, some of which have already been filled, have been funded through a government grant.
