More flights to Gatwick scheduled from Jersey

Flights between Jersey and London are set to increase in November.

British Airways (BA) confirmed it would be providing 19 weekly flights between Jersey and London Gatwick, alongside 21 to London Heathrow. The additional services are part of a five-year agreement between British Airways and the Ports of Jersey (POJ). Matt Thomas, POJ chief executive, said the additional flights would "provide a further boost to our connectivity and more choice for passengers".

“We are delighted that British Airways remains committed to serving Jersey through its global hub at Heathrow and is now adding further options for islanders to connect through Gatwick," he said. Mr Thomas said BA would leave its aircrafts overnight for early morning flights so customers could fly at 07:00 BST to either destination.

Deputy Kirsten Morel, Minister for Sustainable Economic Development, said "reliable connections" were "vitally important" for the island. He said: "Building our air and sea links not only boosts confidence but also sends a clear message that will encourage investment in both the visitor economy and other sectors.” Changes will come into effect from 4 November 2024.
