Islanders are being advised against swimming at a Jersey beach after water samples revealed high levels of E. coli.
Environment officials reported that the source of the contamination at Greve de Lecq is currently unknown and is under investigation by the pollution control team. The government stated that the Infrastructure and Environment team would promptly install warning signs in the area.
"Anyone who has been swimming there and starts to feel unwell or has health concerns should contact their doctor," they advised. The government added that water quality in 16 bays around Jersey is regularly monitored from May to September each year.
