An inspection of Silkworth Lodge, the only residential rehabilitation center in the Channel Islands, revealed issues with the safe storage and administration of controlled drugs.
The Jersey Care Commission, which conducted the inspection in June 2024, recommended revising medication administration guidelines and introducing annual competency assessments for staff by December 2024.
Silkworth Lodge responded promptly, addressing the concerns and implementing changes, including updating their medication policy and adding independent monthly checks.
The center emphasized its commitment to maintaining high standards of care and working closely with the regulator to make necessary improvements.
