Gloomy and Rainy July in Jersey

July in Jersey was wetter, duller, and cooler than usual.


A late burst of hot weather brought the month's average temperature to 18.1 Celsius, close to the norm.


The hottest day of the year so far was on 31 July, with temperatures reaching 29.7 C.

However, rainfall was about a third higher than normal, with a total of 61.8mm recorded compared to the 30-year average of 45.3mm.


On 15 July, the day the King and Queen visited the island, nearly 28mm of rain was recorded at Howard Davis Farm in Trinity.
