Fundraiser Launched to Assist Jersey Rescue Dogs During 'Busy Season'

A fundraiser is being held in St Helier today to benefit Jersey Rescue Dogs and Our Shelter Halkida in Greece.

Organized by Caitlin Brooks through her Jersey Paws Lending Library, the event invites islanders to contribute at a cake sale on Brook Street. The sale runs from 11:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., or until the items are sold out.

In addition to the cake sale, a raffle will offer exciting prizes, including a £50 voucher for the Pembroke Pub as the top prize and an afternoon tea for two at Ransoms Garden Centre as the second prize. Attendees can also participate in a competition to guess the name of a teddy bear for a chance to win the cuddly toy.

Caitlin Brooks explains the motivation behind the fundraiser: "We decided to direct all raised funds to Our Shelter Greece, which currently has many kittens in need of homes and requires support for vet bills. We are also supporting Jersey Rescue Dogs, a local charity. During this busy season, with many animals needing rescue, every penny will help these two organizations save more animals. It’s that simple.”
