'Beloved' fete makes a comeback in Jersey

The "much-loved" Gorey Fête has made its return to Jersey, according to event organisers.

This year's fête features a funfair, beach games, entertainment, music, fireworks, and a few surprises.

Organisers said the dedicated team of St Martin volunteers, along with sponsor Jersey Mutual, has come together to bring the event to life for the community and selected charities.

New additions include a "quiet and sensory area" for families, with the Variety Trailer offering a peaceful space for parents with young children and breastfeeding mothers.

Attendees can expect the usual funfair, beach games, spaghetti-eating contest, yard of ale competition, and fireworks, along with surprises like a silent disco and a children's fancy dress competition.

The event will also have stalls offering face painting, kids' activities, jewellery, sea glass creations, hair braiding, and toys.

Gates open at 10:00 BST on Friday.
